Menu Management (Adding, updating and removing menus)

Important notes about menus

Working with a Menu is an advanced feature and should only be performed by a senior/experienced editor.

What is a menu?

Menus are a set of links that can be used in the main navigation (usually the maroon across the top of all pages) or in the Left Navigation Page Option.

Adding a menu

  1. In the back-end editor, go to Appearance -> Menus.
  2. In the ‘Select a Menu to Edit Box’ on the Menus page, select the ‘create new menu’ option.
  3. Enter a name for the menu.
  4. Select ‘Create Menu’.
  5. Add pages from the ‘Add Menu Items’ listing. Pages can be re-ordered by dragging and dropping. Important note: Menus will not auto-save changes, so hitting ‘Save Menu’ is required or all changes will be lost.

Updating a menu

  1. In the back-end editor, go to Appearance -> Menus.
  2. In the ‘Select a Menu to Edit Box’ on the Menus page, select the menu from the dropdown.
  3. Add pages from the ‘Add Menu Items’ listing. Pages can be re-ordered by dragging and dropping. Important note: Menus will not auto-save changes, so hitting ‘Save Menu’ is required or all changes will be lost.
