Breadcrumbs

WHAT IS IT?

Breadcrumbs are a website navigation tool that helps users "find their way" when they are lost (the reason they are called breadcrumbs). They are important for good UI and are an accessibility tool.

HOW TO USE IT?

Important note: Breadcrumbs are an element that is populated automatically on all pages. There is a checkbox allowing editors to disable breadcrumbs, but this is only recommended for Homepages or Marketing Landing Pages.

To disable breadcrumbs:

  1. Access the Page Editor.
  2. In the main body of the page editor, scroll to the top of the page.
  3. Select 'Hide Breadcrumb Trail'.
  4. When ready to publish, select ‘Update’.

WHERE CAN IT BE USED?

All pages except a homepage/landing page.
