Security Updates Launching Oct 1st, 2019
At MPS we’re always working to update MacSites for design, accessibility, and performance, but we also spend a lot of time focusing on security and staying up to date with industry standards.
Normally our clients don’t notice this work, however, two upcoming changes will affect all sites/clients. We’d like to detail them below to keep everyone in the loop.
New Back-end Login URL
On Oct 1st, 2019 we’ll be phasing out the current login URL, /wp-admin. This means when you log in to make edits to your site, your site URL will stay the same but will end with a new prompt.
As part of these security measures, we’re unable to post online what the new URL will be. Watch out for a newsletter from us with the information or contact us directly to get the info.
VPN Required for Back-end Login
Some of our clients might have already noticed a change in the ability to login to the back-end without a VPN connection.
We’re slowly rolling out this security feature, so please note that any work on the MacSites back-end off-campus will begin requiring a VPN connection in the coming weeks.
Security is a priority for us and these updates are a part of the services MPS/MacSites clients receive.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
